Seasonal Fruit Crumble
Ingredients
4 apples, halved and cored
3 pears, chopped
150g blackberries
110g oats
110g plain flour
180g golden caster sugar
140g chilled Castle Dairies butter, chopped
100g crushed cobnuts
custard, to serve
Equipment:
A large oven dish
Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C/gas mark 4. Arrange the fruit in the oven dish.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, oats and sugar, then add the butter. Using your fingertips, rub the butter into the dry ingredients until your mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Mix the cobnuts into the mixture and then scatter it on top of the fruit.
Bake the crumble for 30-35 mins, until the fruit is soft and the topping is golden. Serve with warm custard.
